Metropolitan Homoeopathic Medical college & Hospital is located in Ramchandrapur, sodepur. This college & hospital was established in 1972.This college is recognized by the National Council for Homoeopathy. It is the pride of sodepur. This Homoeopathic college is a premier medical teaching institution and public hospital at Sodepur. I have been with this college for a long time. Dr Soumitra Basu, Saugata Roy I the three of us, started working together for the development of this college. The current principal Dr. Chandranath Das is also handling the responsibilities of this college very well. The college has made significant progress by establishing good relations with state government. Along with the college arrangement were made to run the hospital well. Arrangement are being made to make higher education possible in future. With the support of the chief minister, under his inspiration, The Metropolitan Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital has undergone over development. The infrastructure has become much better than before. Apart from goverment college, Metropolitan Homeopathic Medical College and hospital is now the best college among all private Homeopathic colleges in West Bengal as well as India. Students enrollment is now happening in large number, as we hoped. The hospital is open 24 hours a day. We have started yoga at another branch of Metropolitan Homeopathic Medical society which is located Sealdah old campus. An auditorium hall is being built in this college ground. With the cooperation of principal, director and other staff of this college, we will continue to provide good service to patients as well as to students in future with a good reputation.

Metropolitan Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital has come a long way in 48 years since its inception at B. B. Ganguly Street, Kolkata, on 2nd June 1972. The seed was planted by a group of blue bloods led by the late Dr. Prodosh Majumder. I extend my sincere gratitude to all the members of the Metropolitan Homoeopathic Medical Society and the teaching and non-teaching staff of the Metropolitan Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital. As an institution, we are committed to a strong focus on students’ academic progress, enabling them to achieve demanding targets. With the objective of providing the best possible medical education, the institute has built a robust infrastructure. Our excellent faculty ensures that every student is guided and cared for, meeting their individual needs, so they can leave this college equipped with academic skills and the ability to exceed expectations in their lives. The institute is self-oriented and managed by a capable Society and adroit Governing Body, consisting of local eminent persons led by Hon’ble Sri Sougata Roy, Member of Parliament and President of the Society, and Hon’ble Sri Nirmal Ghosh, Member of the Legislative Assembly and Executive Member of the Society. We currently have a total of 33 full-time faculties, including 10 faculties from the Modern Medicine field, and 7 guest faculties. Most of them have postgraduate qualifications. I am extremely proud of our highly knowledgeable and experienced faculty.The art of serving the nation for a better tomorrow has always stemmed from the task of spreading education. Liberalization has opened up new horizons for the new generation of professionals, but it also presents inherent challenges. When education is carried out to perfection, it leads to the inevitable step of creating more opportunities. With this belief and thought, the faculty of Metropolitan Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital takes all the necessary steps to groom and sharpen the new generation of Homoeopathic Physicians.We are delighted to announce that many of our students hold prestigious positions in the Health Department all over the country, while others are successfully practicing in various corners of the country and abroad. I myself am an ex-student of this college.The qualities of quality, creativity, openness, and diversity fuel all of us in helping the future doctors aim higher and achieve their goals.
