Forensic medicine is the science of applying medical knowledge to legal problems. It deals about the medico-legal facts of medicine. The purpose of the course is to make undergraduate students much capable of observing and legally inferring correct conclusions. The students are also made to learn the way of handling and keeping track of criminal cases or medico-legal cases in an integrated manner. Course contents/topics: 1.Theory - Medical Jurisprudence, Legal procedure, Medical Law and Ethics, Law in relation to medical profession, Types and classification of different injuries, details about Toxicology, Post mortem changes, Rape, Abortion, Medico-legal cases etc. 2.Practical - Various types of weapons, Poisons, Human bones, Models, Instruments, 3.Post mortem demonstration in State General Medical Colleges & Hospital.
